Great trail to explore the boulders and rock faces at the base of Rumbling Bald Mountain. The trail is wide with a mostly gravel surface.
This is an extremely popular area for rock climbing. The parking lot is often full on every nice weekend between October and April. The parking lot has been expanded and now includes over 100 spaces.
WHERE: 827 Boys Camp Rd., Lake Lure, NC 28746
DIRECTIONS: Turn on Boys Camp Road near the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge. Travel 1.4 miles and turn left into the parking area.
Keep your maps in a plastic bag to protect them from the rain and know how to use them. GPS units are great, but they are not substitutes for knowing how to use a map and compass.
