RUNNING RACE SERIES

The ROC Race Series is a group of running events within Rutherford County held during a calendar year. To promote all the races as a unit and help each individual race; the ROC Race Series promotes the events as a series. Through the generosity of our five sponsors, we provide overall prizes at the end of the year for race series participation and individual results during the year. To be eligible for the series prizes a runner must compete in at least half the events. Each race is conducted on its own under their direction and rules—ROC assumes no responsibility for individual races. Results are submitted and tabulated as soon as possible after each event and presented on the ROC Race Series site.

New for 2018--- ROC will be offering cash participation prizes during the year. Any runner that has participated in 3 of the first four races will be entered in a drawing for 3 cash prizes. Then 4 similar cash prizes will be awarded after the 9th event for any runners that have participated in 6 of the first 9 races. These prizes will be awarded via   random drawings regardless of the runner's time or place for the events. This intended to increase series participation throughout the series. Runners that compete in at least 9 of the 12 series races will receive special awards at year end.

SCORING NOTES

We do NOT use the age group results from an individual race to issue our points. Raw results are used and then re-sorted to fit our criteria. Thus for some races there may be differences between age group awards and our points.

The age you are in the first race you run is the age group you will remain in for the series points. That age group may be different than the age group you get points in at an individual race is you changed groups in mid-year. For example, if you turned 30 in July, you will score points in the 30-34 group in indiviudal races, but still remain in the 25-29 age group for total series points.
