40-50 ft wide and meandering with high banks and is mostly shaded class 1 rapids or less. Passes under one bridge at Union Road. As of May 2014 this section has one major tree obstacle about 2 thirds through the float. Trees have fallen crossing the river and have created a blockage. The tree is navigable through a narrow passage on the right side of the river. There is one rock ledge making a class 2 drop, long boats be weary. If the water is slow moving you will have plenty of time to stop and look. Portaging is easy if you can see the rock and walk over it. Overall this section is navigable, but use caution in low water.
